migration policy for Thailand
Thailand is anti natal
Im looking at a popluation pyramid and a policy of thailand.
Thailand is popular spot for immigrant workers. They have a large amount of population in agriculture. Most of their pop is 20 to 60 years old.
Thailand is struggling with an overload of old workers. The percent of people able to wrk in thailand right now is 71% but that number is expected to go down to 50 in 20 years. That means that wages will rise and thailand will be a less internationally competetive country.
Modernization in the 2000s slowed their population growth by spreading contraceptive materials around the country. In the 1930s many rebellions and coups ravaged thailand and stopped immagration. but after them came urbanization and the standard of living in thailand greatly increased.
Thailands population is expected to decline by 2100 from the 70 million its at now to 40 million. This amount of population decline is substantial and is mainly due to much of thailands popultion being older. This will have anegative impact on thailands economy since when labour roles cant all be filled labour costs will raise and in turn inflation will increase too in vicous cycle that will ultimatley be bad for thailand.
